Pooja Chavan Suicide Case: Chitra Wagh questions MVA govt over Rathod's attendance in Cabinet meeting

The Mahavikas Aghadi government is under fire from the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after Forest Minister and Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Rathod came up in the Pooja Chavan suicide case.

Meanwhile BJP leader Chitra Wagh has lashed out at the government over the Pooja Chavan case, saying, "Ministers should be saved in the Thackeray government.Even if the daughters of the poor in the state die."

BJP leader Chitra Wagh also questioned the probe conducted by the Pune Police and has demanded to know how Mr. Rathod could appear in a Cabinet meeting and why a case had not been officially lodged against him 17 days after the girl’s death.

Chitra Wagh also inspected the place where Pooja committed suicide in Pune on Thursday. She also informed that the room where Pooja Chavan was staying was sealed. After which Wagh met Wanwadi police. She also interacted with journalists during which she strongly attacked the state government and Sanjay Rathod in the Pooja Chavan case.

Wagh said the Wanwadi police inspector did not speak the same language as the senior officer. She asked Why a case had not been lodged 17 days after her death? The police replied to her that they are awaiting a written order.

She further said, that Chief Minister Thackeray shoukd take action against Sanjay Rathod. "Also, I have worked with Sharad Pawar. He will never support such dirty act," she said. I will personally meet Sharad Pawar and the Chief Minister with whatever details and information I have. I am sure both these leaders will not support this dirty acte, said Chitra Wagh.

A 22-year-old TikTok star Pooja Chavan allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the Heaven Park building in Pune’s Wanawadi area on February 8. The Maharashtra police, probing the case, filed an accidental case and dismissed anything suspicious in the matter.
