Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi and Amruta Fadnavis  were involved in a heated war of words over the transfer of salary accounts of Mumbai Police from Axis Bank to HDFC bank. Amruta Fadnavis holds a senior position in Axis Bank. It started when Chaturvedi wrote on Twitter, "Mumbai Police will transfer salary accounts of 50,000 cops from Axis bank soon. Much needed move considering how arbitrarily the bank was chosen & state government employees' salary accounts moved overnight. "Chaturvedi was referring to the state government's move to shift Mumbai Police's 40,000 salary accounts out of Axis Bank. Mumbai police officials' accounts were opened in Axis Bank in the year 2003. Now in the year 2015, the agreement was to get over.

However, the agreement was again renewed for 5 years. At that time Devendra Fadnavis was Maharashtra's chief minister while his Amruta Fadnavis held a senior position in Axis Bank. The opposition had made allegations that since CM's wife is at a senior position in Axis Bank, therefore, the agreement is getting renewed. In a reply to Chaturvedi's tweet, she said, "Axis Bank is not my family Bank-it's third largest listed private sector bank and I'm an employee who has worked for the same bank for 18 years! How will an opportunistic ?? ???? understand this honesty & hard work! These accounts were acquired in 2005-basis technology & services [sic]".In the tweet, Amruta implied that accounts were acquired in 2005 when the Fadnavis government was not in power in Maharashtra. To this, Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi replied on Twitter, "Why did it hit you so hard when I didn't even mention you and why does the decision of Mumbai Police hurt if it isn't your family bank? I said it was arbitrary, why did it hit you? About the ?? ???? bit, maybe Eknath Khadse ji will best respond to you. [sic]"
