The strong winds and intense rainfall when Cyclone Tauktae made a landfall affected the west coast. It caused a lot of damage near the beach. An old age home in Vasai was also hit by the storm. An elderly citizen was also injured when a window door on the first floor of the New Life Foundation collapsed. It is noteworthy that there are also school teachers who have taught Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, MNS president Raj Thackeray and NCP leader Jayant Patil staying in this old age home.

Suman Laxmikant Ranadive (88) was a teacher of Mathematics and Science at Balmohan Vidya Mandir in Dadar. She retired in 1991. She has been living in the New Life Foundation's old age home in Vasai for the last one year. According to the English newspaper 'Mid Day', the New Life Foundation's old age home is in a dilapidated condition and the elderly are suffering due to inadequate facilities.

Suman Ranadive wrote to Chief Minister and asked for help. After this, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena president Raj Thackeray spoke to Ranadive over phone. She explained the difficulties her inmates have to faceat the old age home. 'The storm has caused a lot of damage. Help as much as you can, 'requested Suman Ranadive.

I have told Avinash Jadhav about that. They will definitely provide with needed help. Don't worry, Raj assured. He also promised her that he will visit her soon.
