SC stays order of Bombay HC that had cancelled Navneet Rana's caste certificate

The Supreme Court has given relief to Navneet Ravi Rana, an independent MP from Amravati constituency in Maharashtra. The Supreme Court on Tuesday stayed the order of Bombay High Court that had cancelled the caste certificate of Navneet Kaur Rana.

The Bombay High Court on June 8 cancelled the caste certificate issued to Navneet Kaur Rana stating that it was obtained fraudulently using fabricated documents. Rana was fined Rs 2 lakh by a division bench of Justices RD Dhanuka and VG Bisht for submitting a fake caste certificate. The court had also directed Rana to surrender the caste certificate validated by order dated November 3, 2017 within six weeks.

Navneet Rana had moved the apex court regarding the judgment of the Bombay High Court. In the hearing, the court has adjourned the decision of the High Court today. This has been reported by ANI.
