Mumbai Police on Saturday increased the security around Amitabh Bachchan’s residence, following Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole’s threat to disrupt the shoot of Big B and Akshay Kumar’s film if they fail to tweet against the rising fuel prices. According to a report in ANI, a police car and two police officers were stationed outside the ‘Deewar’ actor’s house Jalsa. Senior Bachchan’s security guards were also commissioned along with the added security, the report added. Nana Patole on Saturday asserted that they will keep protesting against Akshay Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan "whenever their movies are released".

ANI quoted him as saying, “We have not stepped back. We will show black flags to them whenever their films are released or when we spot them. We will follow democratic ways.” "I did not speak against Akshay Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan but against their work. They're not real heroes. If they were, they would've stood beside people during their sufferings. If they want to continue being 'kagaz ke sher', then we don't have any problem,” Patole added. The Congress leader had earlier slammed Bachchan and Kumar for not speaking against the BJP government for increasing the fuel prices. He lashed out at the celebrities, who had criticized the Manmohan Singh government over the fuel price hike in the past, for not saying anything against PM Modi leg government, which has increased the petrol and diesel prices exorbitantly. He had threatened to stop the shoot and screening of their films if the celebs ‘failed to speak up’ on the burning issues in the country.
