Shocking! Woman throws newborn from sixth floor apartment in Mumbai

In a shocking incident a 25-year-old unmarried woman was arrested by Pant Nagar police for allegedly throwing her newborn from her sixth floor apartment in Ghatkopar in Mumbai.

The woman was admitted to Cooper hospital as wasn't keeping well. 

The Police has booked the woman under IPC section 318 for "secretly burying or otherwise disposing of the dead body of a child, whether such child died before, after or during birth, intentionally concealing or endeavouring to conceal birth of such child"

The security guard of the building was alerted by a milkman alerted who saw a baby lying dead in a pool of blood outside the building at Gaurishankar Wadi on August 4, senior inspector Suhash Kamble said. 

The residents fo the building were unaware of any woman being pregnant as there has been a lockdown for five months.

According to doctor's report the baby was alive when she was born and had suffered head injuries. 

Police later added IPC sections of murder (302) and causing disappearance of evidence (201). 

"Officers kept a watch and zeroed in on a young, pale and weak woman. She admitted to the crime," Kamble said.
