Supriya Sule requests CM Thackeray to consider opening single-screen theatres

The lockdown has made it a bit more challenging for single-screens to run business. Single-screen theatres are suffering due to the prolonged lockdown. The Maharashtra government has allowed resumption of shoots under certain conditions. Film, TV and all OTT content shoots had come to a complete halt since mid-March as the number of coronavirus cases started increasing in the state.

However the theatres and cinema halls are still not allowed to open. Single screen theatres owners met MP Supriya Sule in this regard and demanded that the cinema halls should be reopened. The owners also raised concerns over the lockdown which is going to be extended after September 1 which was hinted by CM Thackeray on Monday. If the lockdown is extended the problems of the theate owners is going to get even worse. 

The single-screen theatres closed since March due to coronavirus outbreak due to which cinema hall owners are facing huge financial crisis. 

Nitin Datar, president of the Cinema Owners and Exhibitors Association and vice-president of the Film Federation of India in his letter to MP Supriya Sule demanded single-screen theatres to be reopened.

NCP MP Supriya Sule took Twitter to post the demands made by the theatre owners and requested Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to consider the demands of the theatreoperators and come up with a positive solution.
