Talathi Recruitment Scam: Youth Congress Workers Stage Protest at Dadar Railway Station in Mumbai

On Tuesday, January 23, Youth Congress (YC) workers staged a protest at Dadar Railway Station in Mumbai, alleging a Talathi recruitment scam. The workers stopped a local train from Churchgate to Virar at platform number one of the station, creating chaos and disrupting train services.

The Congress has taken a strong stance against the alleged Talathi recruitment scam and demanded a thorough Special Investigation Team (SIT) inquiry into the matter. Youth Congress workers, accusing the Talathi recruitment process of being a scam, boarded the train, got off the track, and staged a rail roko protest. Despite police efforts to convince the protesters, they remained adamant about the agitation. As a result, police and Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel entered the railway station to quell the agitation, and all protesters were detained.

A train bound for Virar from Churchgate was released after the detention of the protestors, but the incident disrupted train services and caused inconvenience to commuters. On Friday, the competitive examination coordinating committee announced a protest in Pune over the Talathi recruitment scam, alleging that the revenue department planned to release the final selection lists without conducting any investigation into the recruitment scam.
