After long Covid break, Malvika wins Uganda International Series

In the final, second seed Malvika defeated fifth seed and country mate Anupama Upadhyaya in three games 17-21, 25-23, 21-10. Earlier in the semis she got the better of FadlighFadilah Shamika Mohamed Rafi 21-2, 21-7 in a one sided battle. Malvika played well throughout the tournment although she was playing after a gap of 4 to 5 months .

While talking to Lokmat Times Malvika said, " I am very glad to win the Uganda international series . It was after a gap of 4 to 5 months that I played a tournament and I had the pressure to be able to play well. My coach sanjay Mishra sir had worked very hard with me. It took me sometime in the final to adjust to the drift and judgments . But once I got adjusted to it , I played the 3rd set well.

I would like to thank my coach Sanjay Mishra sir, MBA president Arun Lakhani sir, NDBA secretary Mangesh Kashikar sir ,Go Sports Foundation ,my parents and my practice partners for my victory ". Malvika also said it was important for her to win this tournament after the covid break and she still have a long way to go and hoping to give her best in times to come
