Bharti shines in Vidarbha victory

Nagpur, March 15

Bharti Fulmali's cracking 94 ( 116b, 11x4) and Vishnavi Khandkar's four wickets helped vidarbha to trounce Tamil Nadu by 53 runs in Wome's Senior One-Day Trophy match at TI Murugappa Ground in Chennnai on Monday.

The same combination of Fulmali and Khandkar propelled Vidarbha into the victory inn the touramen topener against Meghalaya. But this time if Bharti excelled with bat, Vaishnavi delivered her best in bowling.

Vidarbha won the toss and elected to bat girst. They received earl jolts when oeners Khandkar (1) and A Bhongade (2) returned to the pavilion cheaply. with Disha Kasat and Ayushi Thakare (9) losing their wickets, Vidarbha wre struggling on 48 fr 4. Then Bharti and K Pophali rescued Vidarbha . Both made 94 run partnership for fifth wicket. Wheh Pophali ws fur run short of her well deserved half century, Nethra L clean bowled her. However from other end Bharti stood firm. She got some good spport from Nyupur Kohale (14), Reena Paul 14) and Naidu (10) that ultimatley helped Vidarbha to cross 200-run mark Unfortunatley Bharti missed her century by six runs as she was stumped by Prvithra Sridhharan off KN Ramyashri. For Tamil Nadu, Niranja Nagarajan and captaion Nethra claimed three wickets each.

In reply, thanks to Vaisynavi (4 for 36), Tamil Nadu were all out for 154 in 45.2 overs. Niranja Nagarajan (41, 78b, 3x4), opner A Eloski (30, 62b, 2x4) S Anusha (22) showed some resistance but in vain. Vaishnavi was well supported by Gagri Wankar (2 for 16). Nupur Kohale ad Disha Kasat were chipped in with one each,
