City cager Shreya''s noble gesture

Leo Orchid Club under the aegis of Lions Club of Nagpur Medicos organised a Plasma and Blood Donation camp in association with Lifeline Blood Bank at the Hanuman Mandir hall, Shrikrishna Nagar on Sunday.

The initiative of the camp was taken by a national level basketball player of the city Shreya Dandekar who is also the president of Leo Orchid Club. Around 40 blood units and 20 units of plasma were donated during the five-hour camp duration. The camp was inaugurated by the hands of city mayor Sandeep Joshi. Rajya Sabha MP Vikas Mahatme and East Nagpur MLA Krishna Khopde shared the dais as guests of honour. In his inaugural address, mayor Sandip Joshi lauded the efforts of city youngsters who came forward to donate blood and plasma. Joshi also praised the initiative of Shreya Dandekar for organizing the camp and making citizens, specially the youngsters, aware about the importance of plasma and blood donation which is the need of the hour during Covid-19 time.

On the occasion MJF Ln Raje Mudhoji Bhonsle (past DG), Dr Prashant Rahate the MD of Seven Star hospital, Dr Harish Warbhe the MD of Lifeline Blood Bank, Dr Aravind Butle president Lions club of Nagpur Medicos, Dr Viral Shah zone Chairperson and Dr Rajesh Sawarbandhe district CP pediatric cancer were also present. Sanjay Awachat president of Soham Foundation and his team too worked hard for the success of the camp.
