Cops bust online sex racket; rescue young women from Mumbai, Delhi

Police busted a sex racket carried out through an online website in Sadar. The mastermind of the racket is absconding but police managed to arrest his associate and also rescued 2 girls of Mumbai and Delhi. The arrested accused Tulsidas alias Sagar Deviprasad Hanavat (23) is from Varasivani, Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh. His partner Deepesh Kanbhar aka Gagan Thakur is absconding.

Thakur was running the racket through Priya Kapoor website. There are three mobile numbers mentioned on the website. The customers used to contact Thakur through this website. Thakur used to finalise the deal and hand over the girl to the customer. Customers had to arrange a place. Thakur had called a girl each from Mumbai and Delhi and made them stay in a hotel. Police got a hint of the racket. Police contacted Thakur through a dummy client. He finalised the deal for `2,500 for each girl. He asked the dummy customer to deposit the amount in the bank account. To catch him red handed, the dummy customer decided to make the payment after receiving the girl.

Sagar reached the Hotel Dua Continental with the girls. On getting the girls, police nabbed Sagar. He used to work for Thakur. During the lockdown, he got associated with Thakur. The woman from Delhi arrived here on September 30 and the girl from Mumbai came here on October 2. Thakur is suspected of running this racket with a fake identity. It is being investigated.
