Fuel thieves'' gang busted

Sakkardara police busted a gang of thieves who used to steal fuel from truck and other vehicles. The members of the gang belong to Madhya Pradesh. Police arrested four members of the gang.

The accused are Khemchand alias Monu Tulsiram Jakhav (30), Biharilal Thawarji Malviya (34), Golu Suresh Jatav (30) and Mahesh Ghisulal Jatav (30), Laxmi Nagar, Shajpur, Madhya Pradesh.

Sakkardara police found the accused near Annabhau Sathe statue situated Bhande Plot Square on Tuesday night in suspicious state. They accused did not satisfy the police with their answers. Police took them into custody and brought them in police station. Upon questioning, they admitted that they steal fuel from truck and other vehicles in rural areas. They said that they stole fuel in the night and sold it to another vehicle drivers. If they get chance, they also commit burglary.

Generally fuel theft cases are not filed. Because of this, the accused do not even come in the eyes of the police. The accused have carried out the incidents in Kalameshwar, Butibori, Kuhi, Ramtek and other police station areas. The accused get active in the city and rural areas for some time and then return to their villages. Many cases can be traced from the questioning. They have been handed over to the rural police. This action was carried out under the guidance of DCP Vivek Masal by PI Satyavan Mane, Chandrakant Yadav, API Sagar Awhad, ASI Madhukar Tule, employees Govind Deshmukh, Rohan Chaudhary, Nilesh Shendre, and Pawan Lambat.
