Hansraj pip Gouhar FC 4-3

In an interesting encounter Hansraj FC pipped Gouhhar FC 4-3 in the JSW Senior Division Football Tournament being organised by Nagpur District Football Association (NDFA) at Suyog Nagar ground, North Nagar here on Friday.

Hansraj had a upperhand in the first half as the scored all four goals. But in the later half of the play, Gouhar FC made some recovery and pressurised the opponents.

In thhe very fifth minute Hansraj took early lead when Aman found the net. Nine minutes later Arvin increased the lead 2-0 to put Hansraj in commanding position. After facing two goals, Gouhar FC players looked clueless. Taking an advantage of it, Hansraj forwards pumped in two more goals and that too within a span of one minute. First in the 26th minute, Noel Hillary stretched the lead 3-0 and then in the very next moment, Aman scored his second goal.

With few seconds remaining for the break, Azam Khan scored much awaited goalfor Gouhar who were trailing badly.

The first half was totally belonged to Hansraj but in the second half they looked complecent. Shivam Pathak created some hopes for Gouhar by scoring back to back goals in the 65th and 70th minutes. However in the remaining time, Hansraj forwards managed to control 'wounded' defenders of Gouhar and as a result they succeeded in recording close victory. During the proceedings, Arvin and Noel Hillary of Hansraj were cautioned for thir rough tackle.

In another match, Veer FC and Nagpur Star played out a 1-1 draw. Both the goals came in the second half. In the 70th minute, Prasanna Kharat tasted the long awaited success. However his joy was short-lived as eight minutes later Babu Francis scored an equaliser for Nagpur Star side.
