Nagpur: Massive fire breaks out at VICCO Laboratories unit, no casualties reported

A major fire broke out at VICCO Laboratories unit in  MIDC area of Nagpur, around 11 pm on Sunday. Although there were no casualties in the fire, the company reported 70 per cent loss. The fire broke out on Sunday night when a large amount of smoke started emanating from the company's premises.

In order to control the fire, 6 vehicles of Nagpur Municipal Corporation Fire Brigade, 2 vehicles of MIDC, 10 vehicles each of Wadi Municipal Council and Kalmeshwar Municipal Council arrived at the spot. Firefighters worked tirelessly to bring the fire under control. . Cosmetics are manufactured in this company.

There was no report of any casualty so far, he said. Due to the intense heat of the blaze, the ground floor and two upper floors of the structure collapsed, he said. 
“About 70 per cent area of the industry was affected due to the fire,” the official said.
