The cooperation extended by the private hospitals following an appeal by the administration during coronavirus pandemic is invaluable. But inquiry should be conducted against some anti-social elements, who tried to exploit the situation during this period. A medical committee should be formed which will work in an unbiased manner to check malpractices committed by the private hospitals and scrutinise complaints about private hospitals and check disputable and exaggerated bills, directed energy and guardian minister Nitin Raut to NMC commissioner.

A Covid review meeting was held in divisional commissioner's office on Saturday. Divisional commissioner Dr Sanjeev Kumar, police commissioner Amitesh Kumar, district collector Ravindra Thakare, NMC commissioner Radhakrishnan B, chief executive officer of Zilla Parishad Yogesh Kumbhejkar, director of Directorate General of Information and Public Relations Hemraj Bagul, dean of GMCH Dr Sudhir Gupta, dean of Mayo Dr Ajay Keoliya, deputy director of health department Dr Sanjay Jaiswal, district civil surgeon Dr Devendra Paturkar, district health officer D S Selokar, president of IMA Dr Sanjay Deotale and president of Hospital Association Anoop Marar were present in the meeting.

The concept of reserving 80 per cent of beds in hospitals has benefited lot of corona patients during the peak. There are complaints from several people that medical treatment has not been provided as per the rates fixed by MNC, while the hospitals have put up billboards in front of 80 per cent beds, but it was not followed.
