State education board’s divisional office sans chairman

Nagpur, Oct 17

State education board is giving stepmotherly treatment to Nagpur divisional office. Consequently, no one has been appointed as chairman of the board’s divisional office for the last 10 years. Some time, divisional education deputy director or some time divisional secretary are getting the additional responsibility of this post.

As per information received by the Lokmat Times, for the last three years, the divisional secretary Ramakant Deshpande has been sharing the additional responsibility of the chairman post, His tenure will end after a month. With this the posts of chairman and secretary will fall vacant hin Nagpur board office. No one has been appointed in these posts so far. Sources said that after Deshpande''s retirement, preparations are being made to give additional responsibility for the post of chairman to divisional education deputy director Anil Pardhi and and divisional secretary to divisional assistant secretary (senior secondary) Madhuri Savarkar instead of permanent appointment of an officer in both the posts. The functioning of the Nagpur divisional office of the board is being affected due to lack of permanent officers.

It may be mentioned here that Chintaman Borkar was the chairman in Nagpur divisional office in the year 2010. He was transferred to the post of director of Balabharati. After this, for some time, the responsibility of the post was handed over to Sanjay Ganorkar, chairman of Amravati divisional office. For some time, Anil Pardhi was given the responsibility of the post. But no permanent appointment was given to anyone. The secretary of the board could not be contacted in this regard.

No one wants to come to Nagpur

Sources said that one of the major reasons behind the vacancy of the post of president is that no officer from Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Aurangabad wants to come to Nagpur. After the transfer of Borkar, the then secretary of the Pune divisional office was made the chairman here but he refused to take office. Along with this, he had demanded to be appointed in Mumbai or Pune only. Here the post is vacant due to the officials are avoiding coming to Nagpur.
