Two killed, 3 injured as car falls into dam

An uncontrolled speeding car fell into a dam killing two persons including a professor. Three others were injured in the mishap. The incident took place in Rama dam complex in Bela under Vadgaon police station in Umred tehsil.

The deceased have been identified as professor Aanchal Ramakant Pandey (40) and Sushil Mohan Adyalkar (35). Both were residents of Wardha. According to information Pandey and Adyalkar went on Sindi (railway) by car bearing number 32/AH 2768 on Friday evening at 5 pm. From there they along with Jitendra Chalani (40), Santosh Sonkshetra (37) and Amol Palewar (45) reached Vadgaon dam via Bela road.

After some entertainment, everyone reached the Shani temple located on the premises. They were returning after visiting the temple. The driver lost control over steering. in a turn. The high speed car bounced and fell into the dam. Sushil could not get out due to the air bag opening. Professor Pandey also died due to drowning. On receiving the information, a team of Bela police reached the spot. The bodies were sent for post-mortem after Panchnama.

Glass broke out

Professor Aanchal Pandey a professor in the GS College of Commerce and Economics in Wardha. Sushil Adyalkar''s father is a medical practitioner in Wardha. Jitendra, Santosh and Amol came out somehow after breaking the glass when the car fell into the dam. After this, he reached Bela and informed Sudhakar Bhondge. Sushil''s 5-year-old son did “mukhagni.”
