Nagpur, Oct 14

A new bus depot is proposed on 11.80 acre land for Aapli Bus in Wathoda area for providing facilities to people in East Nagpur, charging facilities and other projects. But this project is stalled from last two years due to which people are facing trouble. An expenditure of `56.60 crore is expected on new depot which will have all facilities. A provision of `30 crore has been done for internal roads in bus depot and development works in the area in budget of transport committee for the year 2020-21.

Thus depot will be usefull for electric buses which will be free from pollution and environment friendly. Central government has given permission to run 100 per cent electric buses in public transport. In the backdrop of this, the transport committee has given permission to purchase electric buses. But the working of transport committee is almost stopped as Aapli Bus service is closed from last six months.

Devp of Morbahvan, Khapri depots stalled

There is need to develop Morbahvan and Khapri bus depots to enhance city bus service. The Morbhavan depot is centrally located in the city due to which its need is more. The roads and construction at Khapri depot are proposed. But these development works are stopped.

Negligence of admn

The city bus service is closed due to coronavirus pandemic. But depot and other necessary development works are also closed in this period. If these works were completed on time, it would have helped in boosting Aapli Bus service. But municipal corporation administration neglected towards this issue.
