150 academicians write to PM Modi: Demand not to postpone JEE and NEET exams

On Wednesday, more than 150 academicians from several universities across the world wrote letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding to conduct JEE (Main) 2020 and NEET 2020 examinations.

In the letter to PM Modi, it stated that if the entrance exmas are further delayed it will mean compromising on the future of student

150 academicians of the letter are from the Delhi University, IGNOU, Lucknow University, JNU, BHU, IIT Delhi and Indian academicians from foreign universities such as University of London, University of California, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Ben Gurion University, Israel, among others.

The letter further stated that,"Some are trying to play with future of students to propel their own political agenda."

Several JEE and NEET students have opposed the conduction of the exams amid a rising coronavirus cases in the country.

Many minister and political leaders have slammed the central government for its decision to conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) next month amid the coronavirus pandemic.
