Am falsely implicated, Batla House encounter accused tells court

New Delhi, Sep 3 Alleged Indian Mujahideen (IM) terrorist Ariz Khan, who is an accused in Batla House encounter case, on Thursday, told the Patiala House Court here that he has been falsely implicated in the case.

Khan made the submissions during the final argument before Additional Sessions Judge Sandeep Yadav, saying that there was no evidence to relate him with the flat or to prove his presence there at that time.

The accused was arrested by Delhi Police's Special Cell in February 2018, after allegedly being on the run for a decade following the incident.

On September 19, 2008, the Delhi Police's Special Cell had carried out an encounter in Jamia Nagar's Batla House, in which two suspected Indian Mujahideen terrorists and Inspector Mohan Chand Sharma died.

Seven years ago, the court had sentenced another terrorist Shahzad Ahmed to life imprisonment in connection with the case.
