Army personnel shoots himself with his own service rifle

An army solder allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself using his service rifle in Rangreth area in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Friday. Official sources said that Lance Naik Omprakash  committed suicide with his service rifle at Old Air Field, reported news agency GNS.

He died on the spot, they said, adding that the cause of him taking the extreme step could not be ascertained immediately. A investigation has been launched into the matter.  A similar incident was reported in July, were an army personnel  committed suicide by shooting himself dead with his service rifle in Boniyar area of north Kashmir. This is the tenth time such incident of the year.
