Baba Ka Dhaba owner attempts suicide: 'Don't know what was going on in his mind', says wife of Kanta Prasad

Kanta Prasad, who shot to overnight fame last year after a YouTuber had featured his struggles with a small-time eatery, has been admitted to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi on Thursday night. 

According to DCP South Atul Thakur, he was brought to hospital in an unconscious condition after he consumed alcohol & sleeping pills. Police has recorded statement of his son in this regard and further investigation is on. 

Badami Devi, wife of Baba Ka Dhaba's Kanta Prasad said,"I don't know anything, I don't know what did he eat. I had not seen. He fell unconscious, I was sitting at the dhaba. I brought him here. Doctor has not told us anything so far. I don't know what was going on in his mind: 

A few days ago, 80-year-old Kanta Prasad came back to his 'Baba Ka Dhaba' eatery after his new restaurant could not pick any significant business. A video of Prasad had surfaced online in which he was seen apologizing to YouTuber Gaurav Wasan who played a key role in uplifting his standard of living and improving his economic status. 

Baba Ka Dhaba' came into the limelight only after Gaurav's video last year. In the video Prasad said, ‘Gaurav Wasan… that boy was not a thief, nor have we ever called him a thief. We apologize for the inconvenience and ask the public to forgive us."

Following a rift with Wasan, Baba had filed a case for fraud against him. In the complaint, Prasad had alleged that Gaurav collected a huge amount of money from people in his name but he was given only a "portion" of it.
