The discussion on the Citizenship Amendment Bill is still going on in the Rajya Sabha. Home Minister Amit Shah spoke in the House about the bill. Home Minister Amit Shah said in the House, 'Those minorities who have come to our country from outside, have got relief. People from three neighboring countries came to our country. They did not get the right to equality there. They came to India with hope. This bill is like a ray of hope for millions of people. This bill is for religious victims. I want to draw the attention of the people of the country through this house. Publicity is done on the basis of declaration form. BJP had mentioned this in its manifesto. We are not doing vote bank politics. We put this issue among the public and the mandate we got is proof of acceptance on it.

The Home Minister further said, 'Today we are going to implement this bill. We are going to fulfill our promise made to the public. The bill provides for citizenship to Hindu, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist, Jain and Parsi people. Confusion is being spread in the country that this bill is against Muslims. The Muslims of our country are, and will be, citizens of this country. No Muslim in the country has to worry.

Taking a dig at the opposition parties, Amit Shah said, 'What do you want, Muslims from all over the world should come here and we make them citizens? how will the country run. Should we give citizenship of our country to Muslims coming from any country. My challenge the opposition that I will answer all questions but you listen to me, I will not go away. With this bill, minorities of this three countries will get a life of respect.

The Home Minister further said, 'I want to assure all the citizens of Assam that our government runs on the basis of everyone's development. The time has come to bring a true solution to the Assam problem.
