Corona Kappa Variant: 'Kappa' covid variant found in 2 patients in Uttar Pradesh

A new variant of coronavirus has emerged in Uttar Pradesh. After the Delta variant, there is a new variant that has been found in the state now which is Kappa variant. The confirmation of the Kappa variant has only increased the worries of the state health department. Out of 109 samples sent to KGMU Hospital in Lucknow, 107 samples were found to have Delta Plus variant while 2 patients were found to have Kappa variant.

Earlier on Thursday, Delta Plus variants was confirmed in two patients at Gorakhpur and Deoria. The entry of a new variant in the east of UP has created an atmosphere of panic among the people. One patient has died in it. The other patient is in good health right. One of the victims of the Delta Plus variant was a resident of Deoria. He was 66 years old. According to the information, he had tested positive for corona on May 17. He was later admitted to BRD Medical College Hospital after his condition deteriorated. He died in June. After the death of the patient, their samples were sent for examination. The test results revealed Kappa variant. This variant has already created an atmosphere of panic in the UK and US. 

In Uttar Pradesh, 2, 59,174 people were tested for corona in 24 hours on Thursday. The results found that 112 people were infected with the corona. There are no active patients in Shravasti, Aligarh and Kasangaj in Uttar Pradesh.

The entry of the Kappa variant into India poses another crisis. The Delta Plus variant of the Delta virus is dangerous. Delta Plus has been declared a variant of Concern in India. The Kappa variant has been declared a variant of interest by the World Health Organization. Patients in whom the Kappa variant has been found are being immediately traced and their family members to found out travel history. The Kappa variant is a mutation of B.1617. There have been many mutations of B.1617. Of which 2E484Q and L452R are special. This virus is called a double mutant.
Like the Delta variant, the Kappa variant is also dangerous.
