"We are now transitioning to Pradhanmantri Parivar Yojana, which is a more comprehensive scheme," said Puri.

"A whole composite, including Ujjwala for LPG connection, water conservation, tree plantation, solar and waste management will be made available to the PMAY (U) beneficiaries," he said during the launch of Angikaar campaign, which encompasses inducing a behavioural change focusing on issues such as water and energy conservation, waste management, health, tree plantation, sanitation and hygiene for beneficiaries of completed houses under PMAY-U.

"For this purpose, the campaign will converge with schemes and missions of other Ministries dealing with these subjects. The convergence would especially focus on Ujjwala for gas connection and Ayushman Bharat for health insurance to the beneficiaries of PMAY (U)," a release from the ministry said.

Puri said that under PMAY (U) 88 lakh houses have been approved so far as against the demand of 1.12 crore.

"The Angikaar aims at reaching out to all the beneficiaries of the mission in a phased manner. The campaign will be initiated in all target cities on October 2, commemorating the 150th Gandhi Jayanti, and culminating on December 10, the Human Rights Day. The campaign will include door-to-door activities, ward and city level events," he added.

The minister also launched an e-course on Vulnerability Atlas that offers awareness and understanding about natural hazards, helps identify regions with high vulnerability with respect to various hazards (earthquakes, cyclones, landslides and floods) and specifies district-wise level of damage risks to the existing housing stock.
