ICSE to follow CBSE’s decision on conducting pending exams

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) is awaiting the decision of the Supreme Court regarding the pending board exams for classes 10th and 12th under the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) — before taking a final decision to conduct pending examinations, said Jaideep Gupta, representative of the ICSE Board during the SC hearing.

The apex court adjourned the hearing to Thursday (June 25). The pending exams are scheduled to be held in July. The Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, who was appearing on behalf of the Centre and CBSE, stated that discussions on the matter were at an advanced stage and that a decision would be taken by 24 June.

After several requests and letter from parents, the SC court asked the board to consider scrapping the exams and promote students based on internal assessment and the marks obtained in the exams that have already been conducted.
