Kanpur Encounter: Vikas Dubey's mother wants her son killed, for the death of 8 policemen

Mother of notorious gangster Vikas Dubey, the prime accused in murder of eight policemen in Kanpur on Friday said her son should either surrender to the police or get killed in an encounter. Vikas’s mother Sarla Devi said, “I think Vikas should surrender else he might be killed in the encounter. If the police manage to catch him then he should be shot dead because what he has done is very wrong.”Dubey is alleged to be the prime accused in Kanpur encounter case where a DSP was also killed by criminals. Dubey's mother said he joined the crime world after coming in contact with politicians.  Sarla Devi also said that Dubey is causing huge embarrassment to the family. 

Meanwhile, Kanpur police have announced a reward of Rs 50,000 to anyone giving the information on the whereabouts of the gangster. Late on Thursday, police gunned down uncle and cousin of Dubey in an encounter after the killing of policemen in Bikru village under Chaubepur police station. Police said the two were killed during a combing operation when they fired at the police party. Dubey is wanted in 60 criminal cases including murder and extortion. A total of eight police personnel including Deputy Superintendent of Police Devendra Mishra lost their lives after they were fired upon by criminals in the early hours of Friday. The incident took place when a police team had gone to raid Vikas Dubey's house.
