Karnataka Congress Files Complaint Against BJP Candidate Shobha Karandlaje for Alleged MCC Violation

The Congress party in Karnataka on Friday, April 5, filed a complaint against BJP leader Shobha Karandlaje for allegedly violating the Model Code of Conduct in Malleswaram by sticking posters of her programme. The Election Commission (EC) is expected to investigate the matter further.

Meanwhile, Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje filed their nominations on Wednesday for the April 26 Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka.

The Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare submitted her papers as the BJP's candidate from Bangalore North. She held a road show accompanied by former Ministers Byrathi Basavaraj and Gopalaiah.

In the first phase, 14 out of 28 Lok Sabha seats will go to polls. April four is the last day for filing nominations, nominations will be scrutinized on April five, and candidatures can be withdrawn until April 8.
