Lunar Eclipse 2020: Check out the timings and significance

A penumbral lunar eclipse also called Upachaya Chandra Grahan which will take place on 5 July 2020. In 2020, the world has witnessed two penumbral lunar eclipses and one annular solar eclipse on January 10, June 5, and June 21 respectively. 
 
The Lunar Eclipse will be visible from 4 continents. All of the Latin American countries will be able to view it along with Mexico, Cuba, the Caribbean islands, USA, Canada in North America. Most of the African countries will be able to view it. Western European countries like UK, Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, Italy and others will be able to view it. 

On the day of eclipse, Surya (Sun), Chandra (Moon) and Prithvi (Earth) will be imperfectly aligned. And the Moon shall only pass through the outer part of the earth's shadow.

Chandra Grahan 2020 Timings: The Grahan on July 5 will not be visible to the naked eye in India because it will take place during the day time. The Upachaya Grahan will last for about 2 hours 43 mins 24 secs. The lunar eclipse will not be visible from India because it will be morning light and India would be facing the Sun.
