Patna Blast: Huge Explosion at Civil Court in Bihar, Several Injured (Watch Video)

A major incident occurred at Patna Civil Court on Wednesday afternoon when a transformer exploded, injuring three lawyers nearby. Reports indicate that one lawyer died at the scene, while the other two were admitted to PMCH hospital for treatment. A fire brigade vehicle promptly arrived to extinguish the resulting fire.

The incident, which took place around 1 p.m. local time at Gate No. 1 of the civil court, caused chaos, with six to seven people reportedly injured. According to the ABP News reports, the deceased lawyer has been identified as Devendra Prasad, while another lawyer, Hari Prasad, sustained injuries along with his clerk. Two other individuals were critically injured.

Following the explosion, lawyers protested within the court premises, demanding the presence of the Patna DM. Senior police officials arrived to maintain order and assist the injured, who were swiftly transported to the hospital.

The blast incident has ignited anger among advocates, leading to disruptions within the civil court. Police personnel from the Pirbahore police station are currently at the scene, working to resolve the situation.

Advocate Mamata Kumari expressed her dismay over the incident, stating, "This is an unfortunate incident. The transformer fell on a person and he lost his life. No action has been taken by the administration as of now..."
