Tatkal ticket bookings for special trains to begin today, Read full rules and regulations here

The Indian Railways will begin the tatkal ticket booking counters for all special trains from today. The service will be available for all 200 Shramik Trains running from June 1 and all the Rajdhani Trains running from May 12.Passengers will be able to book tatkal train tickets for AC trains from 10 am and for sleeper class from 11 am. The ticket booking word be possible from IRCTC website and app. The Indian Railways has also increased the Reservation System Period (ARP) from 30 days to 120 days. This will be applicable to all special trains. 


Important things related to ticket booking

ID proof will have to be kept with you for instant ticket booking. 

If many passengers are together, then the ID of one person will be required.

It is necessary to show ID proof along with the ticket while traveling in the train.

Passport, Aadhaar card, PAN card, Voter ID, Bank passbook, ID of school or college, Identity card is valid as an employee of Central or State government

No refunds are given if you confirm confirmed Tatkal tickets.

All money is refunded when the train is canceled.

Tatkal tickets can also be booked through the IRCTC website and mobile app. 

The advance reservation system period has been increased from 30 days to 120 days.

The advance reservation system period will also be applicable to all special trains. 

All trains will also have the facility of booking parcels and luggage.

Indian Railways decided to cancel all regular trains by 12 August this year due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases. The Railway Board had said in a statement that it has been decided to cancel the mail, express, passenger and suburban trains. It was also informed that passengers  will get full refund within 180 days.
