A day after the Delhi Police brutally attacked the students in Jamia Millia Islamia University in Delhi, students and universities across the country broke into angry protests to slam the controversial citizenship law and the government's efforts to quell the agitation against it.

Maharashtra Chief Minister and Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray said, "What happened in Jamia Milia Islamia was like Jallianwala Bang. Students are like 'Yuva bomb'. So, we request the central government to not do, what they are doing, with students."

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had on Sunday targeted his former ally BJP for accepting the persecuted minorities in India under the new citizenship law and said that it was an insult to VD Savarkar, who wanted to bring the land from Indus river to Kanyakumari under one country.
