UP: Two minor boys drown in Yamuna

Fatehpur, Sep 15 Two minor boys drowned in the Yamuna in Datauli village here while taking bath in the river, police said on Tuesday.

The boys identified as Harsh Awasthi (15) and Goray (11) drowned on Monday but their bodies could be recovered only on Tuesday.

Station House Officer (SHO) Sandeep Tiwari of Lalauli police station, said :"The two minor boys had gone to the Yamuna to take a bath on Monday evening. When they did not return till late in the night, their families set out to search for them."

The family members finally spotted the boys' clothes and their cycles on the river bank after which they informed the police.

Police said that the family members took the bodies of the deceased boys without allowing their postmortem.
