Watch: Manpreet Singh and Mary Kom lead India at Tokyo Olympics opening ceremony

The Indian contingent led by flagbearers boxer MC Mary Kom & men's hockey team captain Manpreet Singh marked their presence in the Olympic ceremony in style. 20 of India's athletes are representing the country in the opening ceremony of the grand event. Some of the athletes included Simranjeet Kaur, Vikas Krishan, Manish Kaushik, Satish Kumar, Ashish Kumar, Amit Panghal Pooja Rani, Lovlina Borgohain, Sathiyan, Sutirtha Mukherjee, Bhavani Devi, Pranati Nayak, Sajan Prakash, and Ankita Raina.

India archers Deepika Kumari, Atanu Das, Pravin Jadhav, and Tarundeep Rai opened India's campaign at the Tokyo 2020.Moments before the parade, a wooden set of Olympic rings was displayed at the center of the stadium in a nod to the 1964 Tokyo Games. There, athletes from around the world were asked to bring seeds that could be planted and become trees.
