Facebook has taken a $5.7 billion stake in the Jio digital platforms business of India's richest man Mukesh Ambani. The deal marks one of the biggest foreign investments in the country.

The deal will give the US social media giant a 10 percent stake in Jio Platforms, part of Ambani's Reliance Industries empire.

Jio Platforms provides internet and e-commerce services that tap into the huge subscriber base. Reliance said it wanted to boost income for farmers, micro-traders and other small businesses that are the cornerstone of the economy in the country of 1.3 billion people.

Mukesh Ambani said that it would also help Prime Minister Narendra Modi's dream of digital India come true.

WhatsApp is not a digital app, it has become a friend of all of us. Which brings together family, friends, business, information exchange.

With the help of Reliance Jio's world-class digital connectivity platform and India's relationship with Facebook, new research will be launched in the future. Geo Mart and Geo's new digital platform will benefit from the merger with WhatsApp. Three crore shopkeepers stand to gain a monumental benefit.

This will provide shoppers and customers with a faster and better digital transaction platform. Customers will be able to easily order and access materials daily from the neighboring shops.

Ambani has claimed that this deal with Facebook will transform the villages. Now the goods will go straight to the small villages through the Reliance Mart. This means that three crore shopkeepers in the country will be the delivery point of Jio Mart.

There will be no shortage of orders from customers. Because the user of WhatsApp will be their customer. This will also benefit the government and will lead to a huge increase in tax collection.

According to Reliance officials, Reliance will work directly with farmers for fruits, vegetables and some agricultural products. This will put a halt to the brokers. Consumers will also get good quality vegetables. If a farmer comes with Reliance, his income will also increase dramatically.

Small shopkeepers who come to the city every day to fetch goods. It is going to save them time and money. Since they will now be delivering goods directly to Reliance, there will be no need to go elsewhere.
