The Tata Group is soon to enter the mobile phone manufacturing business. Tata is now rumored to start manufacturing the iPhone soon.

Tata group has an agreement with Apple supplier Wistron Corp in this regard. Soon this deal will be completed, after this deal Tata will manufacture the iPhone in the country.

iPhone manufacturing company Wistron has a plant in Karnataka. After this deal, Tata can take over the plant in Karnataka.

The potential deal could materialise as soon as August, as per the report.

Taiwan's Wistron is a contract manufacturer of electronics. Recently, the company has targeted to make iPhones worth $1.8 billion this year from its Karnataka plant.

The company wants to do this to get government incentives. The company is also focusing on tripling its workforce by next year.

Wistron wants to exit iPhone production in India. After that now Tata has shown interest in buying this company. However, Tata, Wistron and Apple have refused to say anything about it.

According to information received, discussions are going on between Tata and Wistron. They may finalize the deal in August. If Tata gets the deal, Tata will become the first company to manufacture iPhone in India. Along with this, Made in India iPhones will soon appear in the market.

The government is encouraging foreign companies to increase their production and workforce. Due to supply issues from Corona and rising tensions between the US and China, foreign companies are becoming more dependent on China.

Now foreign companies are coming forward to invest in India. The Tata Group has recently ventured into electronic manufacturing. The iPhone's chassis, i.e. the metal backbone of the device, is manufactured at the company's factory in Tamil Nadu.
