The face-off between Kangana Ranaut and her colleagues from Bollywood dominated much of the year 2020.Kangana was one of the most active celebs who came out to voice their opinion on the Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. While many sought justice for the late actor, there were a few who weren't happy with the way his girlfriend and prime accused Rhea Chakraborty was being treated. Kangana slammed Rhea and it was Swara Bhaker, who came out in support of Rhea. Both Kangana and Swara took indirect digs at each other. In one of her interviews, and tweets, Kangana said that she will return her award if proven wrong in accusing Rhea. When the AIIMS report in Sushant's case was out, Swara had tweeted, "Weren't some people ging to return their government bestowed awards?"Arrested on September 9 by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in a drug-related case, Rhea has spent 28 days in custody till date.

In one of her tweets, Kangana called Taapsee Pannu a B-grade actress. Post which, Taapsee took to Twitter and wrote, "Maine suna class 12th n 10th ke result ke baad humaara result bhi aa gaya hai! Humaara grade system ab official hai ? Abhi tak toh number system pe value decide hoti thi na."

Kangana had called Rhea Chakraborty "small time druggie". The same didn't go down well with Sona Mohapatra and she targetted Kangana, in her tweets. After the tragic demise of Sushant Singh Rajput, the late actor's former girlfriend and Rhea Chakraborty's best friend Shibani Dandekar were at loggerheads. Shibani Dandekar had called Ankita a princess of patriarchy and said that she never dealt with her own relationship issues with Sushant Singh Rajput. She wrote, "Such a grotesque letter by @lokhandeankita. This princess of patriarchy who has never dealt with her own relationship issues with Sushant. She obviously wants her two seconds of fame and has got it by targeting Rhea and playing a major role in this witch-hunt. Ankita later, responded, o Shibani Dandekar's comment on the Pavitra Rishta actress's letter to her haters. Ankita wrote that she received immense love from her audience after working for years on television. On Shibani's accusations, she told her to stop looking down on TV actors.

In a television interview, Kanga Ranaut called Urmila Matondkar a “soft porn star.” Claiming that it wouldn’t be very difficult for her to get a ticket to contest in politics if she so wished, Ranaut said, “Even Urmila, she is a soft porn star. I know it’s very blatant. But she isn’t known for her acting for sure. What is she known for? For doing soft porn right? If she can get a ticket, why won’t I get a ticket?” Soon, Ranaut and Matondkar have been engaged in a war of words. Reacting to Ranaut’s earlier comments about the existence of a “drug mafia” in Bollywood, Matondkar had said that “the entire country is facing the menace of drugs. Does she (Kangana) know Himachal is the origin of drugs? She should start from her own state.”
