Celebs and Politicians lashed out on Kangana's Bheek remark

Queen Actress Kangana Ranaut is always in the headlines for her outspoken nature but this time the actress said a very unethical statement which created a storm in social media.

Recently Kangana did an interview with Times now for the victory of her Padmashri and National awards but in an interview, she commented on the freedom of India, Actress said India got freedom after 2014 referring to the Modi-Government. “That was not freedom but ‘bheekh’ (alms), and the freedom came in 2014,” she added, supposedly referring to the year in which the Narendra Modi-led government came to power.

Ranaut’s video went viral on social media with several people strongly criticizing what the actress had said.

Hyderabad Member of Parliament (MP) and All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday, November 14, lashed out at actor Kangana Ranaut he said "A 'mohtarma' (woman) received our highest civilian award. In a TV interview, she says that the country got independencein 2014....Had a Muslim said this, UAPA (Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act) would have been slapped on him. They would have taken him to the police station before being jail and shot him in the leg and said, you are a traitor. But she is a queen and you're a king and you don't do anything. Why don't you do anything? If something like this had been said by one of us even unintentionally, if anyone wrote something unintentionally after an India-Pakistan match, they would brand us as traitors and send us to jail (sic)."

Delhi Commission For Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal wrote to President Ram Nath Kovind. She wrote "Made certain outrageous statements disgracing the great freedom fighters of the country"."These statements reflect her hatred for our great freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh and countless others who laid down their lives for the nation! We all know that our nation got its Independence from British rule through ultimate sacrifices and martyrdom of our great freedom fighters,"

Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor has termed Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut’s statement that what India achieved in 1947 was alms (bheek) but not freedom as an insult to the freedom fighters’ sacrifices and demanded action against her.

BJP leader Varun Gandhi Varun Gandhi took his Twitter and shared a video where he is seen accusing actress Kangana Ranaut. Reacting to Ranaut's remarks, Varun Gandhi shared the viral video and said, "Sometimes an insult to Mahatma Gandhi's sacrifice and penance, sometimes respect to his [Mahatma Gandhi's] killer, and now an insult to the sacrifices of lakhs of freedom fighters -- from Shaheed Mangal Pandey to Rani Laxmibai, Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and more. Should I call this madness or treason?"

NCP leader Nawab Malik also criticized Kangana about her remark towards Independence he said her Padma Shri award should be taken back as she "insulted thousands of freedom fighters with her statement that freedom was obtained in 2014."Kangana Ranaut’s Padma Shri should be taken back. She seems to be high on Malana cream."

Music composer Vishal Dadlani took his Instagram and shared a picture wearing a T-shirt of Bagat Singh prints and wrote "Verified Remind the lady who said our Independence was "bheekh". The man on my t-shirt is Shaheed Sardar Bhagat Singh, atheist, poet philosopher, Freedom Fighter, son of India, and son of a Farmer.He gave his life for our freedom, for India's Independence at age 23, and went to the gallows with a smile and a song on his lips.Remind her of him, of Sukhdev, of Rajguru, of Ashfaqullah, and all the many thousands of others who refused to bow, refused to beg". Remind her politely, but strongly, so she never again dares to forget.
