Samantha Ruth Prabhu made a stellar her web series debut with the second season of The Family Man, created by Raj & DK of Go Goa Gone and Stree fame, and costarring an ensemble cast headed by Manoj Bajpayee, and supported by Priyamani, Sharib Hashmi, Sharad Kelkar, Darshan Kumaar and Shreya Dhanwanthary.

Samantha who received positive reviews for her performance in the show underwent a rigorous training for the show.

For starters, she would do hours of physical training daily and put her body through the grind to the extent that reports have claimed she has taken literal body blows and aches to get into the skin of her character.

The Janata Garage actress conducted hours of her own research other than what the makers apprised her about Raji to ensure that she gets the look, mannerisms and overall body language of the character just right.

Samantha had locked herself in a room for three whole and never interacted with anyone in order to be satisfied with her prep for her character.

On the work front, Samantha's Shaakuntalam failed to perform well at the box office, however, her fans are eagerly waiting for her next project.

Based on the famous play by Kalidasa, the mythological drama was released on April 14, and the makers are said to have suffered Rs 20 crore losses.

The film had a slow start at the box office and collected only Rs 5 crore on day 1 and by far the film collected only Rs 11 crore worldwide.

Meanwhile, Samantha Ruth Prabhu will be next seen in the movie Kushi helmed by Shiva Nirvana. The actress will be seen sharing the screen with Vijay Deverakonda in the movie which is set for a theatrical release on September 1, 2023.
