Happy Birthday Sunny Deol : All you need to know about Sunny Deol's controversial love life

Once a box-office superstar is now struggling hard to win back his lost stardom on the silver screen, Sunny Deol is often credited as the original macho man of Bollywood.

From the day he made his debut on the silver screen with the movie Betaab in 1983, he made headlines not only because of his good looks and acting but also for his controversial love life.

Dimple Kapadia and Sunny Deol's love affair was no secret, the sizzloing jodi gave us many hit movies like Arjun, Manzil-Manzil, Aag Ka Gola, Gunah, Narasimha etc. In those days, it was in every newspaper and magazine that the two actors are head over heels in love with each other, despite their marital status.

Though the alleged couple kept it under the wraps always, it was Sunny’s ex-girlfriend, Amrita, who confirmed that the two are in a relationship.

Amrita, in an old interview, said, “I think she's having her cake and eating it too. She's got nothing to lose and most importantly, she's got her guy where she wants him. So what if it's not heading anywhere? When you've already lived a life, you are happy with a relationship that's at status quo.”

Well, her indirect comment on Dimple and Sunny’s equation revealed a lot about their affair and set tongues wagging. Soon, reports starting coming that Dimple, who was separated from her husband, Rajesh Khanna is in a happy space with her co-star-turned-boyfriend. Moreover, in 2009, when Dimple's sister Simple Kapadia passed away, Sunny was by her side, consoling her.

Rumour mills were also buzzing with the news of an alleged secret marriage of Dimple and Sunny. If gossipmongers are to be believed, then there were also reports of Sunny giving Dimple the status of his wife in various social gatherings and filmi parties.

Unlike his daddy Dharmendra who chose to go against the society and marry his ladylove Hema, Sunny decided not to end his marriage with Pooja. There were reports of Pooja threatening Sunny to leave Dimple otherwise she will leave the house along with their two sons. He, thus, chose to stay with his wife and kids, but that didn’t mean an end to their controversial affair.

To prove these rumours rights, a few months back, a scandalous video of Dimple and Sunny holidaying in Monaco and holding hands like teenage lovers went viral. The leaked pictures and video saw yesteryears’ couple tightly holding each other’s hand and talking. Probably the two were holidaying, away from their respective families and media glare.

Though the rumours about their alleged affair eventually died down, but there were slow whispers in the industry every now and then. They dated for 11 long years and some say that the two are still very much in love and together.

Not only Amrita and Dimple, but Sunny was also rumoured to have dated another actress from the 90s who is still active in the filmi circuit.

Despite his controversial and colourful love life, his marriage with Pooja Deol is still going strong and their elder son, Karan also made his Bollywood debut with Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas.

Deol made his debut through a romantic film “Betaab” in 1983. His first role was a huge success as he was even nominated for the best actor at Filmfare Awards. Later in 1985, he appeared in the film “Arjun” which established him as an action hero.
