Madhuri Dixit, who is known all over the entertainment world for her performances turns a year older today.

Speaking of film journey, she was 'Madhuri Dixit' before the release of the film 'Beta' on April 3, 1992, but lyricist Sameer's song 'Dhak-Dhak Karne Laga' made her a 'Dhak-Dhak Girl'.

Madhuri's song Dhak-Dhak made people's hearts beat so much that even today it is considered a chart-buster song.

Madhuri Dixit is not just an actress but also a dancing diva of Hindi cinema.

She has starred in some of the greatest Bollywood films of all time including, Beta, Tezaab, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, and Devdas.

Madhuri has been awarded four times Filmfare Best Actress, one Filmfare Best Supporting Actress and one Special Award for her best performance in Hindi cinema.

Apart from all these awards, she was awarded the fourth highest civilian honor of the Government of India, Padma Shri.

Being a mother of two kids, Madhuri always fulfills her responsibilities as a wife and as a doting mom.

Whenever she gets a chance, Madhuri goes for a walk with her husband and children. Whether it is going for a walk by the sea or paragliding with children, she does not miss any opportunity.
