Being a single parent is not easy, as one faces a lot of challenges. However, there are single moms in B-town who have defied stereotypes. Let us have a look at some of them.

Neena Gupta was in a relationship with former West Indies cricketer Vivian Richards in the 1980s. Together, they have a daughter named Masaba Gupta. Since Richards was already married, Gupta decided to raise Masaba on her own as a single mother. It was then that she chose to move from New Delhi to Mumbai

Amrita Singh who was married to Saif Ali Khan. She gave birth to daughter Sara Ali Khan in 1993 and a boy, Ibrahim, in 2001. Unfortunately, the couple got divorced in 2004. Amrita has raised her two kids as a single mother.

Karisma Kapoor, married businessman Sanjay Kapur, in 2003. Unfortunately, the two parted ways in 2016. The actor is a mother of two Samaira and Kiaan Raj Kapoor who raised the two single-handedly.

Konkona Sen Sharma started dating actor and co-star Ranvir Shorey in 2007. The couple got married on 3 September 2010 in a private ceremony.The Times of India reported that Sen Sharma gave birth to her first child, Haroon, on 15 March 2011 at a South Mumbai hospital.Sen Sharma and Shorey announced their separation in September 2015. They still remain friends and share the custody of their son. The couple finally got divorced on 13 August 2020.

Sushmita Sen adopted a child and named her Renee, in 2000, when she was just 25. After ten years, she adopted another child, a three-month baby girl, and named her Alisha. Sushmita, a single mother till date.

Poonam Dhillon tied the knot in 1988 to Bollywood producer Ashok Thakeria, whom she had met through common friends. After 9 years of marriage, the couple filed for divorce citing 'lack of passion' as the number one cause and since then the veteran actress has been raising her kids single handedly.
