Pooja Bhatt reveals how she overcame the label of alcoholism at 44

A pretty actress who appeared in the 1990s made everyone fall in love. She won the audience's hearts with the films "Sadak" and "Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin." She is Pooja Bhatt, Mahesh Bhatt's daughter.

After a long absence, 44-year-old Pooja Bhatt has returned to the big screen. Her participation in Bigg Boss OTT 2 shocked everyone. Pooja has arrived at the Bigg Boss residence.

Pooja shared a number of personal details about her life with Cyrus Broacha and the other members. She described how her alcohol problem destroyed her career.

Pooja said, "I had a drinking problem, and that's why I acknowledged my addiction and made the decision to quit."

Pooja also added how women don't get to talk about addiction as openly as men in the society. She said, "Society gives a license to men and thus they can openly speak about being addicted and recovering from alcoholism. However, women don't openly drink and so they don't openly recover.

I used to drink openly so when I thought of recovering from alcoholism I realised that why should I recover in the closet? People used to call me an alcoholic but then I said I'm a recovering alcoholic."

Being someone who used to drink publicly, she realized that she didn't want to recover in secrecy. She believed that this was something everyone should be aware of.

Pooja Bhat was in the news for a number of other issues as well. A magazine featured a picture of her and her father Mahesh Bhat in which was seen locking lips.. Mahesh Bhatt made the contentious claim that he would have wed Pooja even if she hadn't been his daughter.

Pooja Bhat disappeared from the industry due to controversy and addiction. Currently she is working in the film industry as a director, producer. She was last seen in the movie 'Sadak 2'.
