Randeep Hooda lost 26kg for his Swatantrya Veer Savarkar role

The teaser of Randeep Hooda-starrer Swatantrya Veer Savarkar was launched on Sunday on the occasion of his 140th birth anniversary.

It features Randeep Hooda in the lead role. Swatantrya Veer Savarkar is introduced as the most wanted Indian by the British and 'the most feared revolutionary.

Anand Pandit, the film's producer, stated that Randeep Hooda had gone above and beyond in his preparation for the part and that he had done everything possible to ensure that his portrayal of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar was accurate. Anand Pandit has now revealed that Randeep Hooda lost 26 kgs to play the role of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar!

Pandit said that Hooda lost whopping 26 kg weight to look like Savarkar. The filmmaker revealed that the actor ate only 1 khajoor (date) and a glass of milk every day for four months until the shoot concluded.

The producer also revealed that Randeep shaved off his hair for the role too.
