Sana Makbul opens up on battling autoimmune hepatitis: 'Lost work, woke up with puffy face gained lot of weight

Television actress Sana Makbul has shared her experience of fighting hepatitis during the initial phase of her career.

On World Hepatitis Day, the popular actress Sana Makbul opened up on her battle with autoimmune hepatitis for the last three years. The actress, who appeared in Rohit Shetty's stunt-based show Khatron Ke Khiladi 11 in 2021, shared that she has lost out on work and gained weight while she was dealing with her health condition.

Sharing how the condition affected her career, Sana further added, "The last one and a half years has been difficult with a lot of sacrifices which have been mentally, physically, and emotionally draining. A lot of sacrifices, lost work, woke up with a puffy face, swollen feet, swollen hands, and gained weight, and especially if you are an actor, you have to look a certain way.

I have been an F3-F4 patient and now I've reversed it to F1-F2, which is a very good improvement. Now, I am all set to resume my work as I am healthy and as normal as you guys are. For all you guys out there who are dealing with such diseases, whether it's curable or non-curable, hang in there, don't lose hope, and keep faith, there's always a light at the end of the tunnel."

Sana Makbul emphasised an empowering message for those facing similar health challenges, stating that people tend to talk about their diseases when they detect them. She went through her own battle but has now recovered and is ready to resume her work.

Sana encouraged everyone dealing with any disease, whether curable or non-curable, to hang in there, not lose hope and have faith, as there is always light at the end of the tunnel. She highlighted the strength within each individual, reminding them to stay healthy and fit. Sana is known for her work in Vish and also appeared in Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 11, hosted by Rohit Shetty.

Sana Maqbool recently went to Mecca and Medina for Umrah which is located in Saudi Arabia.

On the special day of Eid Milad un Nabi, when sana sought the blessings of Prophet Muhammad, she was seen wearing a black burqa. While sharing the post, the actress said that she has reached Mecca for Umrah for the first time.

In 2014, she made her feature film debut in the Telugu film Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya,changing her screen name to Sana Makbul. In the film she played the role of Samhitha, an aerobics trainer,[8] with whom a father and son fall in love. She has signed and started filming for the Tamil film, Rangoon, a crime thriller directed by Rajkumar Periasamy.
