Corona was the biggest nightmare in everybody's life .So far the number of patients has crossed the 27 crore mark and 5,336,815 deaths.

However, the new variant, the Omicron, has raised concerns amongst the people.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has once again issued a stern warning as the Corona crisis continues. Omicron has reached most countries and is said to be spreading at an unprecedented rate.

Omicron cases are on the rise not only in African countries but also in the US and Europe.

So far, 77 countries have officially confirmed Omycron cases, World Health Organization (WHO) chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreas told.

The Omicron variant is expanding much faster than the Delta, and the Delta Plus variant. Efforts are being made worldwide to prevent this new variant.

Tedros said 'the WHO was not opposed to giving booster doses. But the disparity in vaccination is worrisome. Let me make it clear that vaccines alone cannot save any country from this crisis'.

Vaccination rates vary greatly between countries. In 41 countries, it has not yet reached 10% of the population eligible for vaccination. In 98 countries, it has not yet reached 40 percent.

Vaccination rates vary for different groups of the population in different countries. Data have also shown that the corona vaccine is not much effective on Omicron.

The World Health Organization's Regional Director for Southeast Asia, Dr. Poonam Khetrapal said that the new variant does not mean that the situation will get worse, but it will definitely make it more uncertain.

"The threat of an epidemic is still there," Dr. Khetrapal told a news portal. With the advent of new variants and the growing number of patients in other parts of the world, the threat of Covid-19 persists globally.

In India, so many cases of omicron have been reported so far and 5 states have been affected.

According to Dr. Khetrapal, some of the features, including the widespread use of omecron in the world and large-scale mutations, could have a significant impact on the countries. It is difficult to say exactly what the consequences will be.
