The first case of Zika has been found in Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh. An officer posted at the Indian Air Force has contracted Zika, a senior health official said.

Zika virus is spread by Aedes mosquitoes. The mosquito of this species bites during the day. Zika's symptoms are similar to those of dengue. Primarily, they are mild in nature.

Symptoms of Zika include fever, conjunctivitis, muscle and joint pain, malaise, and headache. These symptoms usually appear in 2 to 7 days. Most people infected with the Zika virus show no symptoms. Zika is most common in older people and children.

The Zika virus is spread by mosquitoes. The virus was first detected in monkeys in 1947. It was founded in 1952 among people in Uganda and Tasmania. Zika has spread to Africa, America, Asia, and the Pacific.

There is no vaccine for the Zika virus yet. Research is underway for this. Zika can be overcome by getting plenty of rest, drinking fluids, and taking common medicines.
