6 Hindu temples in Pakistan which are popular among devotees across the world

Pakistan, once part of India, once had a sizeable population of the minority Hindu community. But in recent times, their population has reduced considerably. During partition in 1947, there used to be around 300 temples in Pakistan. But many of them have been harmed by the fundamentalists.

The temple of Hinglaj Mata located in Pakistan’s Balochistan province is famous for being the ‘Shakti Peetha’ of Goddess Sati. This cave temple is located on the banks of the Hingol River in Hinglaj. This temple is known as ‘Hinglaj Devi’, ‘Hingula Devi’ and ‘Nani Mandir’.

The 1500 year old Shree Panchmukhi Hanuman temple located in Karachi is one of the oldest temples in the country. This temple holds a great importance among the Hindu community, as it is the only temple in the world where the idol of Hanuman is made naturally. It has not been prepared by hand.

The Katasaraja Temple located in Katas of Punjab province of Pakistan is also known as Fort Katas. It is a Hindu pilgrimage site, where many temples are connected with each other. There are seven ancient temples at this religious place present in Katas.

The Sun Temple located in Multan is known as Aditya Sun Temple. This ancient temple was built for the Sun God. Taking this Sun Temple in Multan, it is said that it was built by Samba, son of Lord Krishna, so that he can get rid of leprosy.

The Varuna Dev Temple on Manora Island in Karachi was dedicated to Varuna, the god of the sea. Experts believe that this temple was constructed during the fourth to tenth centuries due to the activity in the sea.

The Jagannath temple is located in Sialkot, Punjab province. This temple is one of the oldest temples in Pakistan. People come from all over Pakistan to visit this temple.
