CM Uddhav Thackeray's Best buses gift for Mumbai city women

Best buses have been launched in Mumbai City for women, from November 6 buses will enable female passengers in Mumbai to travel comfortably and safely on BEST buses during peak hours. Nearly 90 per cent of these buses will be electric and air-conditioned, while the rest will be brand new non-AC gas-powered vehicles.

This is the gift given by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to Mumbaikar women on the occasion of Bhau Beej.

Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar has appealed to Mumbaikar women to use this bus on a large scale and take full advantage of this bus.

By the order of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, the inauguration ceremony of the 'Ladies Special Ladies First' bus service was held at the hands of Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar.

Deputy of Best committee Mayor Suhas Wadkar, Chairman Ashish Chemburkar, BEST General Manager Lokesh Chandra were present at the inauguration.

After the inauguration, the Mayor said, "women passengers face difficulties when traveling during rush hour".

Launching 100 special buses for female passengers during rush hour will alleviate the problem of female passengers. This bus will make the journey of female passengers pleasant and safe.

The mayor said that this is a gift given by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to Mumbaikar women passengers as brothers and sisters.

At present, these buses are getting good responses from women in various parts of Mumbai and this best initiative is being appreciated.

These BEST buses are well-equipped for women and will help reduce congestion in crowded places. Now women's don't have to wait in long queues for buses

“We also have something called ‘Ladies First’ policy, which means that at the originating bus stop, all lady commuters will be given priority and only after that general passengers would be allowed. If the bus gets full, it becomes a ladies special bus, if the bus does not get fully occupied by ladies, it becomes a ladies first bus,” Chandra said.

The Chief Minister's official Twitter handle also tweeted in this regard and the women were told that this was a gift from Bhau Beej.
